Technical reinforcement carriers for the production of high-quality bituminous waterproofing membranes.

Nonwoven materials for the production of bituminous membranes are among the traditional products of Johns Manville (JM) and form a key part of our product range.

Thanks to its proprietary technology, which is continuously being improved, JM guarantees customers 100% product quality together with above-standard technical and commercial support. All main types of reinforcement carriers for waterproofing membranes are available: fiberglass mats, polyester mats and special variants laminated with aluminum foil.

Fiberglass Mats

Fiberglass mats provide high dimensional stability, strength and durability. They are mainly used as reinforcement carriers in bituminous membranes.

Polyester Mats

Polyester mats offer high strength, flexibility and the option of combining them with other materials for specific applications in modern roofing systems.

Mats Laminated with Aluminum Foil

Lamination with aluminum foil gives the materials a vapor barrier function and protects against radon penetration and moisture from the substrate. They are used as special layers in bituminous membranes. In cooperation with a Czech manufacturer of aluminum foil, ALPAX developed special reinforcement carriers with aluminum foil for bituminous membranes, designed as a vapor barrier and protective layer against radon gas from the substrate. The carrier mat of this special laminate is always made from high-quality Johns Manville materials – fiberglass mats and polyester mats. We are able to design and manufacture a specific laminate exactly according to the customer’s requirements.
